The Modular Hypnoglyphs evolved from an afternoon of improvised experimentation by the duo of Jamie Flett and Andy McGeoch using a Serge modular synthesizer and a small pile of other analogue and digital racket generating machines ranging from a traditional electric guitar to digital granular synthesizer applications.
Jamie edited the interesting pieces out of hours of music, then decided they'd be more interesting with some extra overdubs. These involved the piano, a tin whistle, samples, other synths and vocals. On this volume Jamie did most of the singing but Richard Youngs also sings on his response to one of the tracks from Volume I which became 'Delirious Awakening Of Embittered Hysteria' when, rather than 'remixing' the track 'Economy Of Knowledge' Richard played and sang on top of it, engendering something entirely new.
Andy generated some visual artwork to accompany the sounds in the meantime.
