Rain Goose

From a nest with no crows
The mariner knows not
Where the weird fishes go
But he knows the curve of the globe
The curve sailors always have known
The things you think you know
An uncle named his boat for
A shitehawk bully bird oh
Now he knows it's a pirate of the foam
Only laughs now the name's painted on
Walking between the rain
Between the weather
Wondering whether
You'll keep it together
Wondering at the will
To make such endeavour
When the weather means your life
You listen for the signs
And the Rain Goose calls the time
Take your boats and lay your lines
The wrong song means you stay behind
Walking between the rain
Between the weather
Wondering whether
You'll keep it together
Wondering at the will
To make such endeavour

The Forgetting Curve
06:10

Taking the incline
Changing horizon line
Micro to macro view
Guess what the land knew
There are no words from you
Shift in the frame of time
Moving slower along the line
The high fields whiter, brighter
Than the pearl sky
Gabble that fills my mind
Recedes along with the time
Signs in the stone they hewed
Lost as your thoughts and your mood
Lost to me and maybe to you
But this quiet is good
Talk can be cheap sometimes
Sound without any signs
Receding along with the time
Moving slower along the line
Shift in the frame of time
Moving slower along the line
The high fields whiter, brighter
Than the pearl sky

Anthropocene

See all the people
Passing by like days
Everyone has got their own way
At least they have for today
See all the people
They're so far away
Even though they're sat right next to me
Even though they can't, they can't see me
Do you love?
Can you love?
Do you love?
Can you love?
So down into
The black hole I go
Trying to stop the passing of time
Freezing myself like crystals of ice
Then I get there..
There's nowhere to run
Music is over and all the drugs are done
I got so high, forgot to have fun
Do you love?
Can you love?
Do you love?
Can you love?

Ghost in the Granite

Ever since Deek was young he couldn't stay calm
Unstable as petroleum
He just wouldn't be told
When anyone bold was expounding the way that it was
He wouldn't pretend that he knew any better
But he'd never accept you were right
His vision would cloud
While his blood rushed around
Fumes blur the air wait for a spark to ignite
Deek's hair was as red as the mist that descended
To colour his clear hazel eyes
He would lose his head and he'd lead with his fists
Do more damage than he realised
Deek survived until '75 when he realised the Texans had arrived
In the city he called home built from the shining stone
Unique in the Universe
The stone was the resource they hewed from the ground
Now they learned to look under the sea
Like Prometheus unbound
They saw what they'd found
Began the black gold rush to pipe it to you and me
The gold was black but the notes they were green
As the eyes of those who found none
Could Deek keep his head while incomers bled the wells
Bragging how it was done?
If you'd have asked Deek
He didn't believe in the fate that his fight couldn't beat
And a man wearing boots for marshalling cows holding court
Was a challenge to meet
Now, I'm no believer in retribution
That comes from somewhere in the sky
But Deek's kind of anger: indiscriminate
Must come at some kind of price
The blood that was red as it spattered the slabs
Looked black in the silvery light
But Deek wasn't present to notice the hue
Hazel eyes burned without sight
For a man who boiled over, could not keep his head
Deek was subject to great irony
Working the boats that went to the rigs
Joined his Silver City's maritime history
He would be solid and steady as she goes
As the gale yoyo-ed them on a wave
But back on dry land
A cable snapped with a twang
Sang like a scythe
Left the silence of the grave
He survived the anchors flying on the deck
The water and waves from the bow
Now his body haunts the old Shiprow
While his head spins along as it rolls
His eyes were widely surprised
Well, it's not as if he could've known
That his body would haunt the old Shiprow
While his head spins along as it rolls...

Hear A Name
09:49
|

Watch you
Moving around
Hear you
Shouting about
I hear a name
I hear a name
And I want to go along
I hear a name
I hear a name
And I want to go along
Ooooowooooooooooooooooowooooooooo...
